PHD STUDENT

MARY MCELROY

As a graduate student in the Marine Science program at UC Santa Barbara, I am interested in developing approaches to integrate DNA-based information into enhanced strategies for conservation and management in aquatic systems. Over the years, my research has taken me from the urban Hudson River and Long Island Sound near New York City to the remote seas off the West Antarctic Peninsula, where I have taken part in studies of estuarine water quality, seafloor sediment structure, phytoplankton nutritional strategies, and sea ice ecosystem dynamics. Explore my site, and contact me directly to learn more!
